Installing Your Hot Tub Indoors

If you plan to have your hot tub retreat indoors, make sure to:

1) Take exact measurements of your intended hot tub area and bring them with you while spa shopping.

2) Select a spa that will allow plenty of space around its perimeter for entering and exiting, as well as accessing equipment for repairs.

3) Make sure the water-filled weight of the chosen hot tub can be supported by the foundation of your designated space.

4) Ensure that the spa will fit through your home's doorways if you intend to place it inside an existing room. Some hot tubs come fully built, while others are in kits that can be built on-site.

5) Work with a qualified contractor to ensure that the room you place your hot tub in has proper ventilation. Because bacteria in the water vapor is not dispersed as it would be outside, it is essential for indoor spa rooms to have the right ventilation system.
