Master Pools GuildMaster Pools Guild®, Inc.
Richmond, VA

Products Include:
Custom-built pools by more than 115 members of the Master Pools Guild who keep a focus on green practices.

Master Pools Guild is a network of more than 115 elite custom pool builders from around the world that freely shares ideas and information with each other. Members have kept a focus on green practices by attending bi-annual educational meetings, which include green programs. This allows them to hear the latest information from the vendors they work with, thus, offering these energy-saving options to their clients.

Master Pools builders work closely with manufacturers of energy-efficient equipment — heaters, variable-speed pumps, pool covers and solar panels — to know what equipment works best under various operating conditions. They continually monitor and improve applications in their ongoing effort to make pool operations more efficient. Members often alert vendors where improvements can be made and assist in testing improved equipment.

Members are knowledgeable in solar technology and keep up-to-date with any advances. Both new and current pool owners can have solar panels installed on their pool by their local Guild member. Most members also offer UV sanitizing systems, which reduce the amount of chlorine or other traditional sanitizer that pool owners must add. Clients can also opt for a salt chlorinator so they won't need to handle or store chlorine.

San Juan PoolsSan Juan Pools

Lakeland, FL

Products Include:
Fiberglass pools and spas

Works with manufacturers of solar panels and energy reduction technology

Fiberglass pools by San Juan Pools offer the smooth, nonporous finish of fiberglass, which does not allow algae and debris to cling to its surface. Since fiberglass is non-leaching — meaning it does not absorb or give off any chemical properties — correcting improper water balance is easier. Fiberglass pools' satiny finish allows dirt and algae to flow freely to suction fittings and filtration systems. The run time of your filter will be approximately 1/3 that of some other types of pools.

San Juan Pools works with manufacturers of green accessories, including multi-speed pumps, higher flow/low-resistant plumbing and solar heating. Through any San Juan dealer, new and current pool owners can install SunStar solar panels to greatly reduce the energy required for pool heating.

San Juan Pools has also teamed up with Energy & Environmental Solutions, a seller of electrical capacitor units, which recycle the energy required to start up major appliances, including pool pumps. The units provide surge and spike protection and reduce the heat given off by motors, so they run cooler and more efficiently.
