Pentair Water Pool and Spa produces a line of Eco Select™ products, some of which conserve water and all of which reduce energy and are long-lasting.

IntelliFlo pumps with permanent magnet motors (used in hybrid cars) provide a typical energy savings of 30 percent. Digital controls allow custom programming for each pump task, for up to 90 percent savings.

Max-E-Therm heaters offer reduced energy use and low nitrogen oxides emissions. ThermalFlo heat pumps use R410A, an environmentally-safe and non-ozone depleting refrigerant. They also use up to 80 percent less energy than gas-fired heaters.

Quad D.E., Clean & Clear Plus, and System:3 Mod Media and Mod D.E. filters require no backwashing, reducing water use by hundreds (if not thousands) of gallons per year.

IntelliBrite LED lights need only 37 watts to create the same light output as an incandescent or halogen light using 161 watts.

Legend II automatic pool cleaners operate using less energy because they do not require a booster pump.

Filter cartridges with Free-Flow Cores

Pleatco's filter cartridges use unique Free-Flow Cores, which use greater media surface area and provide more openings through which the water will flow. This allows for even water flow through the entire cartridge, increasing filtration and the life of the cartridge. A more efficient water flow also creates less wear and tear on the pump and helps reduce power consumption.

Pools and spas using Pleatco's Free-Flow Cores and equipped with multi-speed pumps can operate their pumps on a lower setting, and the filters will still effectively clean the water. Using a well-maintained cartridge filter system along with a variable speed pump can result in substantial energy savings.

Pleatco is also developing a new generation of filter cartridges using raw materials from renewable resources.
